Researchers from the National Taiwan University visit LVR-Klinik Bedburg-Hau
In a recent trip to the LVR Clinic in Bedburg-Hau, a team of researchers from the National Taiwan University sought valuable insights to aid their work. Led by Professor Hui-Ching Wu, the team included two of her colleagues, Dr. Matthias Müller among them.
The visit was initiated by the Taiwanese government, tasking the researchers with developing a concept for integrating social workers into therapeutic treatment, specifically for mentally ill offenders. The team was particularly interested in learning about the reintegration of mentally ill offenders into society.
The researchers found the organisation of the departments at the LVR Clinic exemplary, with the focus of their visit being on observing the forensic department. They were impressed by the meticulous organisation and the impressive treatment of patients at the clinic.
Professor Wu expressed her gratitude for the exchange with her colleagues in Bedburg-Hau, finding the visit valuable for their work. Dr. Müller, who also participated in the observation of the forensic area, shared similar sentiments.
The insights gained from the visit will be used to improve their own therapeutic treatment methods for mentally ill offenders in Taiwan. The team plans to implement the best practices observed at the LVR Clinic to ensure effective reintegration of mentally ill offenders into society.
This collaboration between the LVR Clinic in Bedburg-Hau and the National Taiwan University marks a significant step forward in the global exchange of knowledge and best practices in mental health care.
