Volkswagen has revealed key details about its upcoming ID. Polo and ID. Polo GTI series models, with the technical data and specific market launch dates for these vehicles still to be announced.
The design of the ID. Polo is under the leadership of Thomas Schäfer, the Volkswagen brand chief who has overseen the transition of the Polo into the electric ID family. The ID. Polo will be based on the "MEB+" architecture, which is a modified version of the platform used in the ID.3 and other electric models.
The design language of the ID. Polo is closer to the combustion models than the ID.3 & Co., but it will retain nearly all the distinctive design elements of the 2023 ID.2all study. This study car, which showcased the potential design and performance of the ID. Polo, had a range of around 450 km and could accelerate to 100 km/h in less than seven seconds.
The 2023 ID.2all study also featured a powerful 166 kW (226 PS) powertrain, and with up to 125 kW charging power, it could charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes. However, the performance data for the ID. Polo is still pending.
