Exploring Possible Train Service Providers for Northern Brandenburg - Revised train service operator announced for north-west Brandenburg region

The Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) has announced a competition to find a new railway operator for the Northwest Brandenburg network. The competition aims to improve the efficiency and service quality of the network, with a focus on enhancing the Wittenberge - Neuruppin - Hennigsdorf - Berlin axis.

The Northwest Brandenburg network connects several towns, including Wittenberge, Neuruppin, Hennigsdorf, and Berlin. From 2028, more trains are set to run on these routes, with an increased frequency. The RB73 line, which runs between Kyritz and Neustadt (Dosse), will also be integrated into the network.

The tender is open to any interested railway operators. The selected operator will be responsible for ensuring operation on the Northwest Brandenburg network from 2028. The tender includes the lines RE6, RB55, and RB73.

From 2028, strengthened trains will run on the network at a 30-minute interval, with up to 38 journeys per day. The goal is to provide a more efficient and reliable service for passengers using the Northwest Brandenburg network.

The VBB spokesperson has confirmed that the deadline for submitting applications for the tender has not yet been specified. Interested railway operators are encouraged to keep an eye on VBB's announcements for more information.
