"Richard Flood and Acushla-Tara Kupe from The Gone season 2 hint at an exciting upcoming installment in the series"
In the anticipated second season of the crime drama series, "The Gone," Dublin detective Theo Richter, portrayed by Richard Flood, finds himself in a race against time. At an airport, Theo is desperately trying to contact his love interest, Irish journalist Aileen Ryan, but to no avail.
Meanwhile, Maori detective Diana Huia, played by Acushla-Tara Kupe, is preparing to leave Mount Affinity when Theo makes a sudden appearance at a press conference. He asks Diana if she has seen Aileen, sparking a chain of events that will unravel a web of long-buried secrets.
The new six-part run of "The Gone" picks up immediately after the events of the first season, with Aileen Ryan, portrayed by Carolyn Bracken, having vanished under eerily similar circumstances to the two missing young Irish tourists from the first series. The plot once again finds Theo and Diana at the forefront, reprising their roles as they delve deeper into the mystery.
Diana, who is played by Acushla-Tara Kupe, finds herself in new territory in the second season. The character, who is known for her ability to remain objective, often takes the lead. However, the rumoured return of the Goatman, a serial killer and the central antagonist of the series, adds a new layer of complexity to her investigations.
Theo, on the other hand, is more of a team player in the second season. His personal relationship with Aileen adds a different kind of urgency and panic to his actions. He relies heavily on his team, including Diana, Sergeant Harris, Detective Sergeant Gwenda, and their knowledge of the people around the town.
Filming for Series 2 took place in Te Aroha, which doubled as Mount Affinity. Richard Flood found the locations to be incredible, particularly Te Aroha, which he described as a highlight during filming. Acushla-Tara Kupe also enjoyed her time on set, especially the armoury training and learning how to use weapons properly for her detective role.
The second season of "The Gone" promises a dangerous game of cat and mouse as the cops try to unravel the mystery surrounding Aileen's disappearance and the Goatman's collection of macabre items. As the story unfolds, viewers will be kept on the edge of their seats, wondering what twists and turns the investigation will take.
