Rider meets fatal end in Berlin-Kreuzberg due to traffic collision
In a sad turn of events, a 64-year-old motorcyclist lost his life following a collision in Berlin-Kreuzberg on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred on Köpenicker Straße.
According to the Berlin police, the motorcyclist was traveling towards Schlesisches Tor when he swerved to the right onto the bike lane in an attempt to overtake other vehicles. Unfortunately, this maneuver led to a series of unfortunate events.
As the motorcyclist attempted to overtake, he slid under an oncoming car driven by a 54-year-old. The impact caused the motorcyclist to fall and end up on the opposite lane.
The 54-year-old driver, along with another 63-year-old car driver, remained uninjured in the accident. The 63-year-old driver was a female motorist turning right onto a property at the time of the collision.
Following the accident, a specialist commission for traffic offenses took over the investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision.
The Berlin police later announced the unfortunate death of the motorcyclist in a hospital on Sunday evening. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
