Rising Trend of Individuals with Disabilities

In a significant move to support individuals with disabilities, the government has announced new flat rates for various expenses. These flat rates, set to take effect in the tax year 2025, will provide financial relief to those affected, as reported by Bürger & Geld.

The new flat rates are designed to be recognised without the need for individual evidence or further proof, making the process simpler and more straightforward. These rates will be applied automatically, with no requirement for the collection of receipts.

The amount of the flat rate depends on the degree of disability, with those with a higher degree of disability receiving a higher amount. For instance, individuals with GdB 100 (the highest degree of disability) will receive an annual flat rate of 2,840 euros. Those with GdB 90 will receive 2,460 euros, GdB 80 will receive 2,120 euros, GdB 70 will receive 1,780 euros, GdB 60 will receive 1,440 euros, GdB 50 will receive 1,140 euros, GdB 40 will receive 860 euros, GdB 30 will receive 620 euros, and GdB 20 will receive 384 euros.

Individuals with the marks "H", "Bl", or "TBl" will receive a maximum flat rate of 7,400 euros regardless of the GdB. Furthermore, for those with GdB 80 or GdB 70 plus the mark "G", an additional 900 euros can be deducted for disability-related travel.

For certain groups, there are further reliefs in addition to the basic flat rate. If a relative is affected who does not pay taxes themselves, the flat rate can be transferred to the applicant.

People with disabilities can save money when buying a car with the new flat rate regulation. This financial relief will benefit those who already have a severe disability ID from the tax return 2026. The new regulation for flat rates for individuals with disabilities will be a significant step forward in supporting those with disabilities financially.

It's important to note that a valid severe disability ID or the decision of the supply office is required for the application. To claim the flat rates, individuals will need to enter the GdB in their tax return.

In conclusion, the new flat rates for individuals with disabilities represent a significant financial relief for those affected. The flat rates are designed to be simple, straightforward, and easy to apply, providing much-needed support for those with disabilities.
