In the heart of Guernsey, works on Kings Road are currently underway, with Geomarine leading the project. The States' Road Traffic Summary provides regular updates on the progress of these roadworks.

The roadworks, initially scheduled for essential upgrades to electricity cables and to connect new services to properties in the area, were deliberately planned during the school holidays to minimise disruption. However, due to unplanned emergency repairs, Kings Road has been closed again, causing a temporary inconvenience.

Despite the ongoing road closure, access to Clermont Interiors via Mount Row remains unaffected. Cyclists are advised to proceed with care when passing the roadworks, with the option to dismount and navigate the area cautiously.

The work being carried out by Geomarine is making steady progress, and it is hoped that the works may be completed by the end of the day. However, no confirmed end date for the works has been announced to the public as yet.

It's important to note that the roadworks are not affecting access to most properties and businesses on Kings Road. Access to these premises is from the Les Croutes side, with an exception for Clermont Interiors, which can be accessed via Mount Row.

The closure of Kings Road is not a new occurrence. Previously, the road was closed for eight weeks, from July 7 to August 29, 2025, due to repairs by the Kreuznacher Stadtwerke to a water leak. The States and Guernsey Electricity were also involved in these works, aiming to meet increased demand and ensure a reliable power supply.

As always, the safety and convenience of the public are paramount. The States and the companies involved are working diligently to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible, and updates will continue to be provided through the States' Road Traffic Summary.
