Ongoing development on A65 road still in progress - Road construction on the A65 nearing completion
The construction works on the A65 in the South Palatinate district are nearing completion, with the Federal Highway Authority overseeing the project. The works, which began in March, span a 4.5-kilometer stretch between Landau-South and Rohrbach.
The ongoing construction has caused some traffic disruptions, with single-lane traffic in place until the works are completed. However, motorists can expect improvements in traffic flow once the works are finished.
During the construction period, the road surface, drainage, and safety features have been undergoing renewal. Additionally, the bridge superstructure over the B38 on the A65 will also be repaired.
To facilitate these repairs, the on-ramp to the A65 from the B38 and the corresponding off-ramp will be closed for several weeks in September. The A65 will also be fully closed in the construction area in the direction of Ludwigshafen on the nights of September 5-6 and September 15-16.
Despite these temporary disruptions, the construction works are expected to significantly improve the road's condition and safety. The works are anticipated to be completed by the end of October, bringing much-needed relief to commuters in the area.
As always, motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and to follow the signs and instructions provided by the authorities during the construction period. The Federal Highway Authority appreciates the patience and understanding of the public during this time.
