Roadway division due to tire ruptures triggers a full restriction

In County Verden, a significant traffic accident occurred on the A27 between Langwedel and Achim-Ost on Monday afternoon at around 4:30 PM. The incident, which involved a severe accident caused by a tire explosion at high speed, resulted in a full closure of the road in the direction of Bremen.

The driver of the accident, a 48-year-old in an Audi, was able to leave his car independently and was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Unfortunately, another road user, a 42-year-old, was hit by flying debris from the accident. He was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

The public is advised to direct inquiries to the Police Inspectorate Verden / Osterholz, who provided the accident information. The Audi collided with several safety barriers and concrete barriers following the tire burst, which caused the driver to lose control.

Initially, the road was fully closed for accident investigation and cleaning, lasting from 4:30 PM to 8:50 PM. However, one lane in the direction of Walsrode was reopened after 45 minutes, and the closure was fully lifted at 5:45 PM. The backed-up traffic in the closure was able to bypass the accident site around 5:30 PM.

The estimated material damage from the accident is approximately 37,000 euros. The 42-year-old's Audi was no longer roadworthy due to the impact. Another road user, a 51-year-old, also discovered damage to his VW after driving through the debris field.

At the time of writing, the identity of the driver who caused the accident has not been publicly disclosed. The Police Inspectorate Verden / Osterholz can be contacted for further information regarding the incident.

Stay safe on the roads and keep updated with the latest traffic news to avoid any potential inconveniences.
