Roadway Mishap on BAB 3 Causes Injury, Partial Road Closure (Pol-Wi)
On Thursday, July 24, 2025, a significant traffic accident occurred on Autobahn 3 in the direction of Würzburg. The incident, which took place at approximately 15:47, caused a disruption that lasted for nearly two hours, resulting in traffic congestion up to 8 kilometers long.
The accident occurred at km 144.3 in the Gemarkung Niedernhausen. Three cars were involved in the collision, with one of them being a Toyota that was pushed into a Tesla in front of it. A Chevrolet also collided with a Toyota stopped at the end of the traffic jam.
Sadly, six people were lightly injured and taken to nearby hospitals for further examination. Two lanes on Autobahn 3 were closed due to the accident, and traffic on the A3 heading south came to a standstill. The disruptions were further exacerbated by rubbernecking, causing a backup of up to 12 kilometers on the opposite lane.

Two of the cars involved in the accident were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away. The estimated material damage is approximately 15,000 euros.
