Radiohead Returns to Germany: The Smile's European Tour Update

After a seven-year hiatus, British rock band Radiohead is making a comeback this year, with their project The Smile joining the lineup. The Smile, formed by Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, along with jazz drummer Tom Skinner, will be returning to Germany for four concerts.

Unfortunately, the band's planned European concerts in July 2024, including these German shows, had to be cancelled due to Jonny Greenwood's illness. Greenwood, who is a member of both Radiohead and The Smile, required intensive care for his illness.

Fans eager to catch The Smile's performances can mark their calendars. Registrations for ticket purchases begin on September 5 at 11:00 AM CET and close after 72 hours. The actual ticket sale starts on September 12. All the concerts will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin on December 8, 9, 11, and 12.

Following the cancellation of their 2024 concerts, The Smile had a rehearsal together for fun in 2021, marking the end of their hiatus. Drummer Philip Selway shared a message to fans about the band's reunion, expressing his excitement for their return.

Besides these four shows in Germany, The Smile has planned a further 16 shows this winter. These will take place in Madrid, Bologna, London, and Copenhagen.

It's important to note that Tom Skinner, the drummer for The Smile, is an English businessman and television personality. He is known for his appearances on The Apprentice and Celebrity MasterChef, and for founding companies such as The Fluffy Pillow Company and Bosh Beds. Skinner is also known for his social media presence and upcoming participation in the 23rd series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2025.

For those interested in attending the concerts, registrations are mandatory. Fans must register on the official band website to purchase tickets. The band's musical identity is deeply rooted in all members, making their concerts a unique and unforgettable experience.

In conclusion, despite the setback with Jonny Greenwood's illness, The Smile is pressing forward with their European tour. Fans can look forward to their return, as Radiohead is set to make a splash in Germany this year.
