Romanian meat manufacturers collaborate on a new venture to focus on the ready-to-cook market sector
Romanian Companies Form Joint Venture and Launch New Product Line
Three Romanian companies - Poultry Investment SA, Authentic Meat SRL, and a local meat processing company based in Mureș county known as Puiul de Crăiești - have announced the formation of a new joint venture named Meat Partners SRL. This partnership brings together over 1,200 employees and combines revenues exceeding EUR 100 million.
Poultry Investment SA, established in 2023 as a joint venture between the Oprea family and Hodler Capital, operates across four counties in Transylvania: Satu Mare, Mureș, Sibiu, and Brașov. The company manages a fully integrated production chain, including breeding farms, hatcheries, broiler facilities, and two slaughterhouses. Although the exact location of its production facility is not specified, it is known that Meat Partners SRL's production facility is located in Boldești-Scăieni, Prahova county.
Poultry Investment SA's retail network and Authentic Meat SRL's expertise in meat processing and preparation will be combined to create a new product line, the Bistro range of ready-to-cook products, under the Puiul de Crăiești brand. This new product line, which currently offers breaded schnitzels and crispy chicken, is expected to account for approximately 25% of Meat Partners SRL's combined revenues over the next three years.
Initially, distribution of the new products will be through Meat Partners SRL's own network of nearly 70 stores. Plans for future expansion include distribution into major hypermarket chains that support Romanian-made products. The medium- and long-term plans for Meat Partners SRL also include diversifying the ready-to-cook portfolio and expanding the national retail network, as well as exploring export markets.
