Rooftop fire incident in Gladbecker's industrial district
Fire in Gladbeck's Industrial Area Successfully Extinguished
A significant fire that broke out on the roof of an unoccupied flat-roof bungalow in Gladbeck's industrial area on Hornstraße was successfully extinguished after approximately ten hours on July 11, 2025. The operation, which involved around 100 emergency service personnel from the fire department, rescue services, and THW, along with approximately 30 vehicles, was concluded at around 23:15.
The firefighting operations began on the building's front side, with the Gladbeck Fire Department's cold-cut foam system being deployed. However, it did not provide sufficient extinguishing success, and the entire roof had to be removed with the support of the THW.
The fire posed a significant risk of spreading to adjacent buildings through closely adjacent trees. To prevent this, a defensive line was formed on the building's rear side towards the neighboring business. The population was warned via the NINA warning app due to heavy smoke.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. Once the fire was under control, the scene was handed over to the police for investigation, and no new facts were provided in the current paragraph that were not already mentioned.
