In the heart of London's South Bank, the Ruby Lucy Hotel, the first UK location for the innovative German brand Ruby Hotels, has recently opened its doors. This exciting expansion allows Ruby Hotels to reach a wider audience and continue to redefine the hospitality industry.

The construction of the Ruby Lucy Hotel was a collaborative effort involving several companies. RED Construction played a significant role, completing the steel structure for the two top floors, all facade elements, the porch, glazing, and interior work. Blade Flooring was responsible for the supply and installation of timber flooring, carpets, vinyl flooring, and ceramic tiling, ensuring a comfortable and stylish atmosphere for guests.

The design process for the Ruby Lucy Hotel took a year, followed by another year for construction. The design was inspired by the history and themes of the area, specifically entertainment and the oldest market in London. The result is a unique hotel that seamlessly blends modernity with the historic charm of the South Bank.

However, the project was not without its challenges. Translating the German brand Ruby to UK standards and making it relevant for the UK market was a unique challenge. Similarly, making the design and building standards of Ruby Hotels mesh with UK planning and building regulations presented additional hurdles.

aobis, a solution provider of IT services, was instrumental in overcoming these challenges. They developed an IT concept for all Ruby Hotels in Germany and Austria in 2013 and continue to be involved in the construction management of each new project from the very beginning. Their efforts have shortened lead times, reduced construction costs, and enabled safe and stable growth.

One of aobis's key contributions is the innovative use of self-check-in terminals. These terminals, which can be easily installed in each new hotel worldwide, aim to streamline the check-in process and provide a more efficient guest experience. The IT concept developed by aobis is flexible, resilient, and highly scalable, helping to digitize the hotel industry.

Future54 provided Project Management, Cost Management, and Contract Administration services for the Ruby Lucy Hotel project. The Airedale Group was engaged to help develop the design of the kitchen, bar, servery, and gallery kitchens, ensuring a culinary experience that reflects the vibrant atmosphere of the hotel.

Ruby Hotels, with its philosophy of 'lean luxury', prioritizes comfort, inspiration, character, and soul over formalities, pretty facades, polished surfaces, and expensive prestige addresses. The Ruby Lucy Hotel in London is a testament to this philosophy, offering guests an authentic and memorable experience.

RED Construction considers the project important as it demonstrates their work on hotels and the delivery of the project as a RED project. The opening of the Ruby Lucy Hotel marks a significant milestone for both Ruby Hotels and the London hospitality industry, promising a fresh and innovative approach to accommodation in the heart of the city.
