Russian troop advance thwarted: Putin's strategies subverted on two fronts
In Eastern Ukraine, ongoing skirmishes have been reported in various regions, with no clear victories for either side.
On the Severodonetsk front, as well as in the areas of Konstantinovka-Druzhkovka and Dobropillya, Russian units have continued their assault efforts, yet no confirmed gains have been made. Similarly, offensive actions in the north of Kharkiv Oblast, initiated on September 5, have yielded no progress for the Russian forces.
Traditional supply routes on the Pokrovsk direction are under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, causing significant difficulties for the enemy's equipment movement. This has not deterred the Russian offensive on the Pokrovsk direction, confirmed on September 5, which involves the Central Grouping of Forces, a powerful formation with an estimated deployment of around 110,000-112,000 troops. These forces are supported by heavy armored and artillery units, with tactical assault groups using unmanned ground vehicles for reconnaissance and sabotage.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces have been observed attempting to use natural cover, advancing in small groups - singly or in pairs, sometimes even waving flags. The enemy is also actively employing infiltration tactics, avoiding direct battles. These strategies have been unsuccessful, as no territorial control by Russia is indicated by their advances with flags.
In the same region, the enemy attempted to storm positions near Kupiansk in several locations over the past two days, including west of Sobolevka, north of Radikovka, northeast near Kamianka and Krasnoperivske, east of Petropavlivka, and southeast near Stepnoye Novoselivka and Pischane. However, no progress has been reported in these areas.
On the Limansky direction, the advancement of the occupiers north-west of Stavok has been recorded. Additionally, Russian forces have recently advanced in the southern part of Primorskyi in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Despite the ongoing struggles, it is important to note that logistics support requests from forward Russian units have been ignored by their command. Furthermore, the enemy is increasingly relying on unmanned ground vehicles on the Pokrovsk direction, a trend confirmed by the chief of staff of one of the Ukrainian battalions.
These developments underscore the complex and fluid nature of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, with both sides continuing their efforts while facing significant challenges.
