Russia's ferocious attack on Kyiv has been denounced by Romania's Foreign Affairs Ministry
In a shocking turn of events, Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine, was hit by a major airstrike on [insert date]. The attack, carried out by Russian forces, caused significant material damage, including to buildings hosting the EU Delegation (EUDEL) and the British Council.
According to reports by the BBC, the airstrike resulted in at least 23 deaths, including four children. Dozens of people were also wounded in the incident.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of choosing ballistics over negotiations, stating that Russia continues to kill instead of ending the war. He also accused Russia of adding to a long list of war crimes committed against Ukraine and its people.
In a statement made on a Facebook post, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine called the airstrike "a blatant proof of Russia's total contempt for international efforts for peace." The MFA further stated that the attacks are a clear violation of international law and humanitarian norms.
The attack was not limited to the incident in Kyiv. According to local authorities, the recent attack targeted more than 20 locations in the city. This is not the first time such attacks have occurred. The last major air attacks on Kyiv, condemned by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were carried out by Russian military forces using missiles and drones. These assaults caused significant damage and civilian casualties in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.
European leaders have condemned the recent attack, expressing their deep concern for the victims and their families. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) of an unspecified country also condemned the airstrike, standing in solidarity with Ukraine. Romania, too, has expressed sympathy for the victims and their families, and has expressed concern for the staff of EUDEL and the British Council.
