In the heart of Toronto, the Toronto International Film Festival played host to the premiere of Eleanor The Great, a film that has stirred up quite a conversation among critics due to its controversial plot and tone. The film, directed by Scarlett Johansson in her directorial debut, stars June Squibb as Eleanor Morgenstein, a character who moves from Florida back to New York after the death of her best friend, a Holocaust survivor.

Johansson graced the red carpet in a champagne-pink gown with spaghetti straps and a backless design, drawing attention to her prominent back tattoos, which include a large black-and-white branch of thorny roses and a little lamb. June Squibb, another star of the film, donned a glittering burgundy suit, adding a touch of elegance to the event.

The SNL show on the same day saw a mix of returning and departing cast members. Colin Jost, Johansson's husband, will be returning for season 51, while Emil Wakim, Devon Walker, Heidi Gardner, and Michael Longfellow will not be returning. The show's co-anchor, Michael Che, will also be back for another season.

In an interesting twist, Scarlett Johansson herself hosted the SNL show in honour of her directorial debut. The event marked a potential milestone if June Squibb were to host SNL in the future. At 95 years old, she would break the record for the oldest person to have ever hosted the series, a title currently held by Betty White who was 88 when she hosted in 2010. June Squibb, who has a past history of hosting a cabaret show in New York, has expressed interest in the opportunity should it arise.

Chiwetel Ejiofor, a member of the primary cast of Eleanor The Great, opted for a casual black jacket with a muted green tie for the premiere. The film, which has polarized critics, promises to be an intriguing watch for audiences.
