Scenic Heli-Tourism Routes Announced in Telangana: Hyderabad to Srisailam Flight Itinerary Revealed

The south Indian state of Telangana is set to transform its tourism landscape with the introduction of a new helicopter service. This service, in partnership with travel platform EaseMyTrip, aims to connect Hyderabad with the picturesque town of Somasila via Srisailam.

Telangana's Tourism Minister, Jupally Krishna Rao, announced the launch of the heli-tourism services, which are part of the state's ambitious plans to expand water sports and adventure tourism. The goal is to attract both domestic and international visitors, moving away from the stereotype of Telangana as merely a land of heritage monuments and temples.

The service will offer passengers a unique opportunity to view the stunning Nallamala forests, the Srisailam dam, stretches of the Krishna river, and eventually land at Somasila. The town, located in the Kurnool district, is home to several historical and religious sites, making it a popular tourist destination.

Locals in Somasila, Amaragiri, and other nearby areas are optimistic about the new opportunities in hospitality, transport, and adventure sports once the services are launched. The INR 68 crore projects include a wellness and spiritual retreat on Amaragiri Island, a boating point and VIP ghat upgrades at Somasila, and other developments in Nalamma and Eegalapenta.

The most ambitious project is the INR 45.84 crore wellness and spiritual retreat on Amaragiri Island. Work on these projects is expected to be completed within the next year, with the exact launch date for the helicopter service from Hyderabad to Somasila via Srisailam yet to be announced.

Officials believe that the mix of helicopter rides, wellness retreats, and spiritual circuits will reshape Telangana's tourism identity, making it a destination state rather than just a stopover. The state government is determined to capitalise on this opportunity to boost both domestic and foreign tourist numbers.

While the operator of the new helicopter service has not been officially announced, the projects underway are a testament to Telangana's commitment to tourism growth and development. As the development work for related projects progresses, tourists can look forward to a unique and exhilarating experience in the near future.
