Scheduled matchdays for 1. FC Union Berlin feature three fixtures under artificial lighting
Union Berlin's men's team is gearing up for an exciting stretch of Bundesliga matches, with several key games scheduled over the coming months.
The team will continue their training in Köpenick, taking a well-deserved weekend off from coach Steffen Baumgart. Their first home game of the season will be against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on October 4 at 3:30 PM, to be played at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.
Following this, Union Berlin will face Borussia Mönchengladbach on October 17 at 8:30 PM at the same venue. The next game, against SV Werder Bremen, is scheduled for a Friday evening, a week after the Gladbach game.
The team will prepare for their Bundesliga game against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on September 13. Three evening games are scheduled for Union Berlin, two on Friday evenings and one on the second-to-last weekend in November at 5:30 PM on Sunday.
The game against SC Freiburg will take place at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on November 1, while the game against FC Bayern Munich will be held on November 8. The remaining three home games will be against SC Freiburg on November 1, FC Bayern Munich on November 8, and 1. FC Heidenheim on November 29.
The game scheduled for Sunday, November 23, will see Union Berlin traveling to FC St. Pauli. The final home game of the year, against 1. FC Heidenheim, will take place in Köpenick on November 29.
Unfortunately, the team is currently without eight players due to their national team duties. As for the potential transfer of Diogo Leite, no specific clubs have been named publicly, but it is known that possible destinations could include clubs from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Austria, or Switzerland, as these leagues can still sign players outside of major European leagues' transfer bans. There has also been a serious offer from abroad, but no further details have been disclosed.
The DFL has scheduled the sixth to twelfth matchdays for FC Union Berlin, following the draws of European competitions and the fixtures of the representing German teams. The remaining four games for Union Berlin will all take place on a Saturday. The team's remaining players secured a 1:1 draw against VSG Altglienicke in a midweek test match, demonstrating their resilience and determination.
