Scotland's rich cultural history spans over four decades, culminating in a significant turning point for the nation: the dawn of a momentous day for Scotland.

The Scottish Culture Club Peine e. V. (SCC) and the Owl Town Pipe & Drum Band e. V. are joining forces to host a Scottish Day event on September 6, 2025, in the Historic Market Square in Peine.

The day's festivities will commence at 11 am with a ceremonial march of all Pipes & Drums on the market square. The Owl Town Pipe & Drum Band, a key contributor to the SCC, will lead the march and perform bagpipe and drum music throughout the day.

The Owl Town Dancers will also perform Scottish Country Dance, adding to the authentic Scottish atmosphere. The Scottish Folksingers will entertain the crowd with ballads and folk songs.

All Peine residents, friends of the associations, and Scottish fans from the region are cordially invited to attend this free event. The event will feature interviews, surprise guests, activities for children, and information stands.

Kai Grone, 1st Chairman of the SCC, has emphasised the crucial role the Owl Town Pipe & Drum Band has played in shaping the SCC. He has also expressed that the event is a special moment and an opportunity to thank supporters and sponsors, particularly the premium sponsor, Stadtwerke Peine.

The event will remember the late honorary chairman of the SCC, Hans-Joachim Knuth, who passed away on August 6, 2025. It will also honour the memory of Ernst-August Horneffer, a founding member and former honorary chairman of the SCC who also passed away on August 6, 2025.

The event will run from 11 am to 5 pm, with the grand finale taking place at 4:30 pm, featuring surprise guests and the band. Special thanks will be given to all other partners who make the festival possible.

So, mark your calendars for September 6, 2025, and come celebrate Scottish culture in Peine's Historic Market Square. It's going to be a day filled with music, dance, and camaraderie!
