New Buick Models Unveiled: Excelle and Electra L7 EREV
General Motors has made some exciting announcements recently, unveiling two new additions to the Buick lineup – the Buick Excelle and the Buick Electra L7 EREV.
Let's start with the Buick Excelle. This compact car has been turning heads with its sleek design, which has received compliments for its quality and been described as very well-designed. The design of its back resembles that of Alfa Romeo, adding a touch of sophistication to the vehicle.
The most powerful engine available at the introduction of the new Buick Excelle is a 1.6 turbo with 180 hp (135kW). This engine offers a lot of power for its price, and the 1.6 turbo engine will cost 179,900 RMB.
As for the Buick Excelle's pricing, the 1.8 engines will cost 189,500 RMB and 157,900 RMB depending on the gadget level. There are rumors suggesting that General Motors might consider a 220hp version for the new Buick Excelle, which could potentially make it a "big winner." However, no official word has been given regarding a 2.0 litre turbo engine for the new Buick Excelle yet.
Moving on to the Buick Electra L7 EREV, this electric SUV boasts a comprehensive range of 1,400km. In China, the new Buick Electra E5 electric SUV has already made its debut, with a range of 620 km and starting at 23,600 USD.
It's worth noting that the manufacturer of the plug-in hybrid MPV with the 5C battery that debuted on the market is Voyah, with their 2026 Voyah Dreamer model featuring a 62.5 kWh battery and 5C fast-charging capability allowing 20% to 80% recharge in just 12 minutes.
