Seek a pass for education at a school institution
Landshut, a city in Bavaria, has made it easier for eligible students to apply for free student transportation. The city has digitalized the application process, making it possible for students and parents to apply online.
Starting from the beginning of the new year, the Landratsamt Landshut (District Office of Landshut) has offered the possibility to apply online for free student transportation tickets. The application portal, located at https://schulweg.our website, is currently available in German and English.
To apply, legal guardians can create an account in "myVIA". The online application includes both the application for tickets and transportation services. Users can add children and legal guardians in the application process. Tickets will still be issued by the secretariat of the respective school.
The new system guides users step by step through the application process. Once registered, users can check the current status of their application under "My Applications" after logging in. If an application is rejected, a written rejection notice will be sent, as before.
Eligible applicants are parents or students residing in Landshut and attending grades 1 to 10. Cost coverage is granted if the school route is more than 2 kilometers for primary schools and more than 3 kilometers for secondary schools. Around 2,000 applications can be processed online annually.
Digital tickets such as the Germany ticket will be sent directly by email. More information can be found at www.our website/schuelerbefoerderung.
For any questions or help regarding the online application, the School Administration Office of the city can be contacted at 0871 - 88 18 35 or 0871 - 88 18 33, or by email at schuelerbefoerderung@our website. It is important to note that applications for reimbursement of travel costs for students in grade 11 and above must still be submitted in paper form at the end of the school year.
The city of Landshut encourages students with disabilities to submit their applications online, as the service is accessible for everyone.
The introduction of the online application for free student transportation is a significant step towards enhancing the convenience and efficiency of services provided by the city.
