Seeking the Transfer of Former Vice Minister Ivanov's Assets to the State Treasury, Calls for by the Prosecutor General

In a significant development, the Moscow City Court has handed down a 13-year prison sentence to Timur Ivanov, the former Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, and fined him 100 million rubles. The sentence and fine were imposed following accusations of concealing corrupt earnings disproportionate to his official income.

The court case was initiated at the request of Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, with the First Deputy Prosecutor General of Russia, Anatoly Razinkin, filing an anti-corruption lawsuit. The lawsuit also demands the seizure of assets belonging to Timur Ivanov, although the exact amount of the claim remains undisclosed, with sources suggesting it is in the billions of rubles.

The lawsuit alleges that over 3.9 billion rubles were withdrawn from a bank, and luxury items, real estate, and cash have been seized as part of the investigation. It has been previously mentioned that a significant portion of Ivanov's property was not registered in his name, and assets were distributed among his relatives, including his former wife and current partner. Trusted individuals were also entrusted with some of Ivanov's assets.

However, the name of the person who is confidentially connected to Timur Ivanov and exercises control over his assets remains undisclosed in the search results.

Timur Ivanov was found guilty of embezzlement in the case, adding to the growing list of high-profile corruption cases in Russia. The court's decision serves as a stern warning against such unlawful practices and emphasises the Russian government's commitment to combating corruption.
