Federal Police Seize Prohibited Airsoft Weapons from Czech Driver in Zittau

On July 19, 2025, at 08:45 AM, officers from the Federal Police Inspectorate Ebersbach made a significant seizure during border controls on the B 178n. A 28-year-old man, who had entered Germany from Poland, was found to be in possession of two unmarked CO2 airsoft weapons, hidden under a blanket on the backseat of his car.

Investigations are underway against the man for violations of the Weapons Act, as he was unable to produce a weapons permit, a legal requirement for carrying air guns with a kinetic energy over 0.5 Joules without identification.

Eight magazines with ammunition were also discovered in the trunk of the car. The man stated that he was on his way to a Czech holiday camp to show the weapons to children, which may also be a part of the ongoing investigations.

Additionally, there are no specific publicly available details about the individuals investigated in connection with this seizure, nor about the current investigations against them.

The two airsoft weapons have officially been seized by the authorities. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to weapons laws and regulations to ensure the safety and security of all individuals.
