A Week in Aachen's Communal Politics: Highlights from Various Committees

The city of Aachen is gearing up for a busy week in communal politics, with several committees set to discuss a range of topics. Here are some of the key points from the agendas of various committees.

Tuesday, 2nd September

  • The Environment and Climate Protection Committee will meet at 5 PM in the council chamber of the Aachen town hall. The agenda includes discussions on the 2025 demand plan for the city's rescue services, as well as plans to make Aachen's streams in Klappergasse and Rennbahn visible and experiential, and the Altstadquartier Büchel.

Wednesday, 3rd September

  • The Aachen-Mitte District Council meets at 5 PM in the forum of the KGS Bildchen at Hauseter Weg. The agenda includes the development plan "Banker-Feld-Straße / Amstelbachstraße", the ecological cemetery development concept, and a bookshelf in Horbach.
  • Simultaneously, the Housing and Property Committee meets in the 170th meeting room of the administration building at Marschiertor. The discussions will focus on the marketing of municipal land in perpetual usufruct in the "Kornelimünster West" building area, the Altstadquartier Büchel, and the 2025 housing market report.
  • In the evening, the Integration Council meeting takes place at 5 PM in the council chamber. The council will make a proposal to amend the main charter and discuss the composition of the state integration council of NRW and the delegations of the Integration Council to committees and bodies.

Wednesday, 3rd September (Evening)

  • An extraordinary meeting of the Main Committee starts at 5 PM in the meeting room of the Haus Löwenstein am Markt. The only public item on the Main Committee's agenda is the planning progress of the "House of Curiosity".

Thursday, 4th September

  • The Mobility Committee meeting at 5 PM in the council chamber takes place. The agenda includes the adjustment of the city of Aachen's sharing guidelines, as well as discussions on the Altstadquartier Büchel and the Aachen streams in Klappergasse and Rennbahn.
  • The Aachen-Richterich District Council meets at 6 PM on Thursday, 4th September in the meeting room of Schloss Schönau at Schönauer Allee. More information on this meeting's agenda is not available at this time.
  • In the evening, the Operating Committee for Culture and Theater meets at 5 PM in room 207 of the administration building at Mozartstraße. The deputy director of the Ludwig Forum will be introduced, and the status of "Together in the morning to the museum" and a look back at the choir biennial are also on the agenda.

Thursday, 4th September (Evening)
