Seven newly acquired vehicles of the Dormagen Fire Department are now in service.
On September 23rd, seven new emergency vehicles were blessed for the Dormagen Fire Department, marking a significant upgrade in the department's capabilities. The event took place in front of the Historical Town Hall.
Among the new additions, three vehicles will be stationed at the main fire station on Kieler Street. One of these is a command vehicle that supports the B-service and interfaces with the regional control center. Another is a large tank fire engine designed for combating large fires, equipped with a large water tank, various foam and powder loads, and powerful water cannons. The third is an ambulance, equipped with a modern stretcher, comprehensive medical equipment, and the ability to communicate directly with a telemedicine doctor.
In addition, two more special-purpose transport vehicles have been acquired for the locations of Hackenbroich and Stürzelberg. One of these special-purpose transport vehicles in Delhoven will also be equipped with a modern drone for reconnaissance. Another universal rescue fire engine worth approximately 560,000 euros will be stationed in Gohr. This vehicle can accommodate up to nine emergency personnel.
Each vehicle in the new fleet is optimally tailored to the needs of its respective location. The special-purpose transport vehicles are used for the flexible transport of emergency personnel and equipment. The cost of acquiring these vehicles is approximately 2.1 million euros.
Mayor Erik Lierenfeld and Fire Chief Bernd Eckhardt also handed over an old command vehicle to the Dormagen DLRG. Bernd Eckhardt stated that the new vehicles are a valuable support for emergency personnel and significantly enhance the power of the fire department.
The city belonging to the fire department that received seven new emergency vehicles is not explicitly mentioned in the provided search results. However, it is clear that the city's neighborhoods are receiving new emergency vehicles, ensuring a more efficient and effective response to emergencies. The new vehicles are set to make a positive impact on the community, providing peace of mind and quick assistance in times of need.
