Severe Traffic Accident on B39 Near Neustadt South Exit
On October 3, 2023, at 13:18, a traffic accident occurred on the B39 between the two roundabouts near the A65 - Neustadt South exit. The accident involved two vehicles and resulted in the serious injuries of a 60-year-old and a 28-year-old car driver.
According to the Police of Rhineland-Palatinate, both vehicles were thrown off the road and the occupants had to be rescued from the wreckage by the fire department. The B39 was closed for several hours for rescue and accident investigation purposes.
The incident occurred when one of the drivers, from Baden-Württemberg, entered the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming vehicle. As a result, the vehicles were severely damaged, with an estimated material damage of around 30,000 euros.
