Shopify Summer Updates 2025: What's Changed?
Shopify has rolled out its Summer '25 Edition, introducing a host of improvements aimed at enhancing the user experience for both merchants and customers. Here's a rundown of the key updates:
Faster Load Times and Simplified Editor
The Shopify admin panel now loads up to 30% faster, providing a smoother workflow for merchants. The editor has also been simplified, featuring a relevant sidebar, custom names for blocks and sections, hover-to-preview, more interactive product cards, and quicker copy and paste functionality.
Store Credit and Promo Codes
Shopify has introduced store credit, allowing refunds to be issued as store credit from within the admin. This new feature can be displayed in marketing emails or on-site using Liquid. Additionally, shoppers can now enter promo codes directly in the cart, making the checkout process even more seamless.
Improved Post-Purchase Pages and Analytics
A tailored guide for enhancing post-purchase pages without breaking the current setup is now available. The updated analytics dashboard includes benchmarks and a new Customer Cohort Analysis report, providing merchants with valuable insights into their customer base.
Multichannel Selling and Apple Pay
Shopify Tax now supports automated filing for more channels, including Shop, Facebook, and Instagram. Merchants can now offer Apple Pay while supporting custom checkout flows, providing customers with a seamless and secure payment option.
Web Performance Reports and Shop App Integration
New web performance reports are available for page-level insights to optimize for Core Web Vitals. Customers can now view and use their store credit and loyalty points in the Shop app and during Shop Pay checkout, making it easier for them to manage their rewards.
