In the picturesque town of Kaufbeuren, Germany, a group of 150 passionate Scottish fans, easily recognizable by their purple club colours of the Glasgow Clan, gathered for the Warrior Cup, an ice hockey preparation tournament.

Amongst them was Aimee Law, a 26-year-old from Glasgow's Baillieston neighbourhood. Aimee and her partner, Rebecca Carrigan, spent their weekend immersed in the hockey atmosphere, cheering for their favourite team and experiencing the German culture off the ice.

The Glasgow Clan's journey at the Warrior Cup began on Saturday, where they faced Munich in a tough game. Despite their best efforts, the Glasgow Clan lost (2:5). The team was missing John Rogl and Max Hadraschek, who were also absent from the ESVK team during the tournament. John Rogl, the forward who joined ESV Kaufbeuren in the summer, had unfortunately sustained an injury during the tournament. Tyson McLellan, another striker who joined ESVK in the summer, was also missing due to an injury sustained from a puck to the face.

Aimee, however, considered Red Bull Munich, the eventual winners of the Warrior Cup, as an "expected winner." She and the other Scottish fans found themselves rooting for the underdogs, Nuremberg, during the tournament.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Glasgow Clan played for third place against ESV Kaufbeuren. The local team, with their home advantage, emerged victorious, winning 5:2 and securing third place. Kaufbeuren's success in the tournament set the stage for a potential reunion between the Kaufbeuren and Glasgow fans in future tournaments, hinting at a budding friendship between the two groups.

Away from the ice, fans of all jersey colors enjoyed activities such as cow milking, beer stein holding, and nailing in the festival tent between games. The Warrior Cup provided a unique blend of sports and culture, making it an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

As the tournament came to a close, Aimee expressed that the outcome did not matter to her, as long as they could watch hockey. She described the Warrior Cup as a good time, and looked forward to future hockey adventures with her fellow Scottish fans. The Warrior Cup, an ice hockey preparation tournament, concluded with the DEL club EHC Munich taking the trophy on Sunday evening.
