In a recent video release, Shu, a renowned member of the K-pop group S.E.S., opened up about her gambling scandal and personal life for the first time since the legal proceedings in 2019. The video, shared on the YouTube channel "That's 인간," saw Shu appear with her husband, former basketball player Im Hee-son.

Shu took full responsibility for her gambling activities, which occurred from August 2016 to May 2018, leading to substantial losses totaling millions of won. She admitted that at the time, she didn't fully grasp the implications of her actions.

The gambling scandal took place in Las Vegas, and Shu's emotional comments were evident as she spoke about the incident. During the conversation, she also shared that her mental state during the scandal was such that she didn't want their children to find out about it.

Im Hee-son, too, revealed that they were living separately by the time of the gambling scandal. However, he expressed a desire to start a new life with Shu. He set a condition for starting over, but the details were not disclosed in the video.

Rumors about marital troubles and divorce between Shu and Im Hee-son have been circulating in the media and social networks for some time. The couple clarified in the video that while their marriage is effectively over, they remain connected through their children and maintain a neutral relationship. They live separately due to work and spend weekends together with their children without set rules on visitation.

Despite the separation, no divorce papers have been filed due to the impact it would have on their children and child support issues. The couple emphasized their commitment to their children despite the separation.

Shu has since paid off all her debts, and after realizing the magnitude of her mistakes, she reached out to the Association for the Prevention of Gambling, offering to cooperate. The latest reports focus on their personal and family situation rather than the scandal itself.
