Sibling Succession in Cricket: South African Brothers Prolong Historic Victory Streak Against New Zealand A, Spanning Four Hundred Years
In a thrilling turn of events in the unofficial One-Day International (ODI) series between South Africa A and New Zealand A, Jordan Hermann once again proved his mettle with a spectacular century.
The third unofficial ODI saw South Africa A win the toss and elect to bat first. Jordan Hermann, who has been in excellent form, started off a bit shaky as he was hit on the forearm by a delivery from Ben Lister in the third over of the innings. However, he quickly recovered and went on to score an impressive 186 not out, setting a new career-best score. This century came off 102 balls and marked his second consecutive century for South Africa A.
The pairing of Jordan Hermann and Rivaldo Moonsamy was particularly noteworthy, as they put together a 159-run second wicket partnership. Moonsamy contributed 73 runs, while Rubin Hermann, Jordan's brother, scored 13 runs before being dismissed by Lister. Interestingly, Rubin Hermann had been pre-signed by the Paarl Royals for the upcoming season, while Jordan Hermann was recently signed by the same team for the next championship.
Rubin Hermann had a stellar performance earlier in the series as well, scoring a career-best 158 not out in the first unofficial ODI and 109 runs in the second. His performance in the second ODI, where he and Jordan Hermann made headlines earlier this year by scoring half-centuries in the same SA20 match, albeit for opposing sides, was particularly impressive.
With this impressive display, Jordan Hermann has now scored four centuries in List A cricket. His consistent performances have not gone unnoticed, as he will be up for grabs in the player auction on September 9.
This series has been a testament to the talent and potential of the South African A team. As the series progresses, fans are eagerly waiting to see if the team can maintain their momentum and secure a series win.
