In the early hours of Friday, a serious traffic accident occurred on the Autobahn interchange Drammetal near Göttingen. The collision involved a 71-year-old driver from the district of Eschwege, who was driving a Skoda in the wrong direction on the A7 heading towards Kassel.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 51-year-old, and the 48-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. Three children in the Hyundai, aged 12, 14, and 16, also sustained minor injuries. Unfortunately, another child in the Hyundai was unharmed, but another child in the vehicle was not reported to have been injured.

The 71-year-old driver, on the other hand, sustained serious injuries in the accident. The cause of the wrong-way driving is still unknown and is currently under investigation.

The police are seeking witnesses who may have seen the 71-year-old driver's Skoda on its way. Investigations are ongoing in an attempt to clarify the circumstances surrounding the accident. Tips regarding the investigation can be reported to the Göttingen police under the number 0551/491-2115.
