Retirement Planning Initiative Gains Momentum in Berlin

The Retirement Planning Initiative, a movement aimed at promoting professional retirement planning in Germany, has seen a surge of support from financial industry companies. The latest addition to the initiative is Standard Life, joining the ranks of Condor Insurance Group, Schroders, Gothaer Insurance, Focus Matters, and Going Public.

Olaf Neuenfeldt of Focus Matters and Ronald Perschke of Going Public serve as the presidents of the Retirement Planning Initiative. The initiative aims to connect end-customers aged 50 and above, product providers, and financial advisors, with the goal of addressing the significant need for catch-up in the area of retirement planning in Germany, as expressed by Matthias Pendl, Sales Manager at Standard Life.

Pendl also expressed concern about intermediaries focusing heavily on wealth accumulation and less on questions of wealth structuring in old age. He stated that Standard Life's membership in the initiative demonstrates the company's commitment to qualification and professionalization.

Perschke, the other president of the initiative, aims to establish retirement planning as professionally as pension advice is today. He states that the association's task is to intensify the exchange between market experts around the advisory approach of retirement planning.

The exact details of Standard Life's involvement or commitment were not provided in the announcement, and it is unclear which company has most recently joined the Retirement Planning Initiative or when this membership was officially announced. However, with Standard Life as the sixth financial industry company to support the initiative, it is clear that the Retirement Planning Initiative is gaining momentum in Berlin.
