In a nod to its rich past, Skoda has presented a modern reinterpretation of the Felicia Fun, a pickup truck produced between 1997 and 2000. The new design, crafted by French designer Julien Petitseigneur, has gained attention for its distinctive style and faithful adherence to the original's design ethos.

The Felicia Fun gained cult status due to its distinctive design, and Petitseigneur's design incorporates many elements of the original, blending them seamlessly with modern accents. The reinterpreted Felicia Fun's front is inspired by Skoda's electric studies, featuring a tech deck mask and T-shaped LED lights. The body of the vehicle has been made wider, featuring large wheels, black wheel arch trims, and a prominent contrast spoiler.

Petitseigneur's design continues at the rear, supplemented by pink rear lights connected by a continuous light strip in the style of the 1990s. Inside, the design incorporates a continuous screen in the cockpit that follows the lines of current models but shows a user interface reminiscent of 1990s video games and classic tube monitors.

The design process for the reinterpreted Felicia Fun took approximately two weeks, mainly taking place in evening sessions. Petitseigneur used digital tools and AI for his design, generating initial ideas with prompts and then developing them manually. The central Modern Solid features of his proposal are the proportions and more robust details.

It's unlikely that the reinterpretation of the Felicia Fun will result in a production car. However, the design combines the historical heritage of the Felicia Fun with Skoda's current design approach "Modern Solid". The name of the French car designer who created the modern interpretation of the Skoda Felicia Fun is Michael Mauer.

Interestingly, all 4,216 produced vehicles of the original Felicia Fun were painted yellow, and the vehicle was based on the Felicia pickup series but had unique features, such as a sliding partition behind the front seats for additional seating in the open air. Skoda does not specify which powertrain is used in the concept of the reinterpreted Felicia Fun.

The reinterpreted Felicia Fun has garnered a cult following, thanks to its faithful adherence to the original's design while incorporating modern elements. While it may not see production, it serves as a testament to Skoda's commitment to preserving its rich history while moving forward with innovative design.
