The brand-new Škoda Kodiaq has triumphed as the victor in Latvia's "Car of the Year 2025" contest, according to the event's organizer Maris Ozolinš, as declared on December 13.

In a grand celebration of automotive excellence, the annual "Car of the Year" awards took place in Latvia, honouring the best vehicles of 2024 and 2025.

Kicking off the 2024 awards, the Nissan X-Trail emerged triumphant, taking home the prestigious title of "Car of the Year 2024." The SUV impressed the jury with its outstanding performance, design, and overall appeal.

Fast forward to 2025, and the competition was fierce, with 32 car models vying for the top spot. The Škoda Kodiaq managed to secure not one, but two awards, winning both the Family Car of the Year 2025 and the SUV of the Year 2025. The versatile Kodiaq stood out for its exceptional blend of practicality and style.

The Volkswagen Amarok, on the other hand, was crowned the 4x4 SUV of the Year 2025, impressing the jury with its robust off-road capabilities.

The Toyota Camry, a surprise contender, finished fourth in the "Car of the Year 2025" jury voting, a testament to its unexpected appeal. The Dacia Duster came in third, while the Volkswagen Tiguan claimed the second spot, just narrowly missing the top position.

Other notable awards included the Renault Scenic, which won Electric Car of the Year 2025, and the Renault Scenic E-Tech, which finished fifth in the overall "Car of the Year 2025" voting. The Audi Q6 e-tron was recognised for its innovation, winning the Innovation Car of the Year 2025, while the Cupra Formentor was awarded Modernisation Car of the Year 2025.

The Porsche Macan was hailed as the Sportiest Car of the Year 2025, and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class took home both the Design of the Year 2025 and the Premium Car of the Year awards. The Toyota Camry also received the Surprise of the Year 2025.

The "Car of the Year 2025" competition had seven finalists, but the brand that won the "Most Popular Car of the Year 2025" award in Latvia was not explicitly mentioned in the search results provided.
