The future of personal aviation is taking off, and at the forefront is the AIR One, an electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft that could revolutionise air mobility.

The AIR One, developed by AIR, a company focused on AI-powered tools and solutions, boasts a range of 110 miles, a top cruise speed of 155 mph, and can fly for one hour per battery charge. With its foldable wings, it can be as compact as a large SUV, making it ideal for garage storage.

Rani Plaut, CEO and co-founder of AIR, stated that the airworthiness certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is a step towards reshaping air mobility and delivering solutions for personal and commercial transportation. The FAA's executive order is designed to speed up the development, testing, and deployment of eVTOL aircraft.

AIR aims to become the first eVTOL to be FAA-certified in the Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) category, allowing pilots to operate with a less restrictive Sport Pilot Certificate. This classification, along with the aircraft's "Fly-by-Intent" control system, makes piloting easier and more intuitive.

The AIR One is a larger, more powerful, and more expensive aircraft than the Pivotal Helix and Jetson One, which are also targeting the recreational market. However, with 2,500 pre-orders, it seems that the AIR One could be the aircraft of the first "Jetsons" generation.

In addition to the piloted version, AIR has developed an autonomously piloted craft based on a similar platform, marketed as an Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) for cargo transportation. AIR has announced plans to deliver 15 cargo eVTOLs in the next year.

The company plans to build a 32,000-square-foot production facility in Israel, with future plans for a larger facility in the U.S. Testing for the AIR One will be conducted at the company's Florida facility following years of testing at its headquarters in Israel.

As the AIR One takes to the skies, it promises to redefine personal transportation, making the dream of flying cars a reality. With its combination of range, speed, and ease of use, the AIR One is poised to lead the way in the eVTOL revolution.
