Social housing organization successfully carries out property shift in Gloucestershire
In an exciting development for the city of Gloucestershire, Stonewater has been chosen to manage the redevelopment of the Manor Gardens site, in partnership with Barnwood Trust. The project, expected to take two years to complete, aims to bring contemporary affordable homes to the area, catering to the diverse needs of local people.
The Manor House will undergo a significant transformation, being converted into a community space, offices, and four apartments. Two of these apartments will be fully accessible, ensuring inclusivity for all residents. Additionally, two new bungalows will be constructed on Newstead Road.
Ann Santry, chair of trustees at Barnwood Trust, expressed her satisfaction with the partnership, stating that Stonewater has an outstanding record of delivering housing management, working closely with residents and local communities, and developing new high-quality homes. She also mentioned that the existing residents of Manor Gardens will benefit from a more experienced landlord.
The new housing at Manor Gardens will be focused on catering for people with mental and physical health challenges, as well as general housing needs. This inclusive and integrated housing scheme is part of Stonewater's commitment to creating sustainable housing units for people with various needs.
The project is being supported by Homes England, and it is noteworthy that another organization, Curo Group, is working with Homes England to create 50 sustainable housing units for people with mental and physical health challenges in Gloucestershire over the next two years.
Stonewater has already demonstrated its capabilities in the region, having completed a major housing stock transfer in Gloucestershire. The redevelopment project at Manor Gardens is, therefore, an important redevelopment project for them. Matt Crucefix, director of development at Stonewater, stated, "Manor Gardens is an important redevelopment project for us, and we are committed to delivering high-quality homes that meet the needs of the local community."
Upon completion, the Manor House and Gardens, Barnwood will provide a mixture of accessible apartments, family homes, and two new bungalows, offering a modern and inclusive living environment for the residents of Gloucestershire.
