Soder discloses his preferred region, elaborating on the distinctions between Bavaria and Franconia
Markus Söder, the Bavarian Minister President, has been making headlines for his active engagement on social media platforms. In a recent TikTok video, Söder shared his personal preferences and opinions, including his favourite region in Bavaria.
Söder, who hails from the home region of Bavaria, Germany, described the Upper Palatinates as great and popular among Franconians. He elaborated on this, explaining that the lifelong connection of the region to its local football club, 1. FC Bayern Hof, contributes to its robustness and cheerful nature.
In a separate social media post, Söder answered a question about his favourite region in Bavaria. He described the people from Lower Bavaria as down-to-earth and attached to their homeland. Middle Franconians, he said, are known for their shyness and reserve, while Upper Franconians are robust.
Söder also mentioned the people from Upper Bavaria and Munich as part of the "cliché Bavaria". He attributed the characteristics of these regions to their connection with FC Bayern Munich, which is currently leading the football Bundesliga with two wins and 9:2 goals after two games.
Söder's preference for a specific region in Bavaria has been a topic of interest, with many speculating that his answer in the TikTok video was likely about which region he prefers.
Recently, Söder proposed changes in inheritance tax and launched his own döner brand, adding to the reasons for his frequent headline-making status. Despite his busy schedule, Söder expressed his happiness to be in and visit all regions of Bavaria.
The 1. FC Nuremberg, the football club of Middle Franconia, has had a challenging start to the season, leading to a "classic autumn depression" among its fans, according to Söder.
In his comparison of the characteristics of different regions in Bavaria, Söder emphasised the unique qualities of each region and the role of their local football clubs in shaping their identities.
