Spartan Poker's IOPC Event #17 has been won by Loveleen Singh
July 17, 2018 marked Day 4 of the prestigious India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) hosted by The Spartan Poker. Out of 55 scheduled tournaments, five were played, including the IOPC Event #17 with a guaranteed prize pool of INR 2 Lac.
The tournament, which commenced at 2pm IST, attracted a total of 680 entries, surpassing the guarantee and taking the prize pool up to INR 3.4 lakh. The top 47 players were paid out, with a minimum cash prize of INR 1,941.
In a tense heads-up match, Loveleen Singh, commonly known as 'sridevi123' in the poker circuit, emerged victorious, bagging a first-place prize of INR 66,363. Singh showcased impressive gameplay to accumulate a nearly 4:1 chip lead against 'Weedman1' in the final stages of the tournament.
The climactic hand saw Singh holding a 9-J, while 'Weedman1' held an 8-J. As the board opened 3-10-6-8, the turn favored 'Weedman1,' who held an 8-pair. However, a Queen on the river completed Singh's straight, beating 'Weedman1's pair of Eights, securing the pot and the IOPC Event #17 title for Singh. Second place was awarded to 'Weedman1' with a prize of INR 42,154.
Post-victory, Loveleen Singh shared, "I haven't been playing MTTs much after the SSS last year. I decided to join IOPC today and ran exceptionally well, shipping Event #17. Now, I plan to grind the entire series."
