SPD intensifies regional collaboration efforts

In a bid to strengthen the Bergisch region, the Social Democratic Party (SPD) is collaborating with various stakeholders to secure funding from state, federal, and European levels. The goal is to transform the region into a thriving tourism destination, as well as maintain its status as an economic hub with innovative industry, new technologies, and good training opportunities.

Last Sunday, the SPD organised an event featuring the big band "Critical Mass", aiming to present tourist highlights with a clear concept that would attract many people to the region. The event was part of a series of initiatives to generate new impulses for the region.

One of the key projects being championed by the SPD is the creation of a Bergisch cycle path under the Müngsten Bridge. While no specific persons or organisations have been explicitly named in the available search results as involved in this project, the local political group Bündnis 90/Die Grünen in Solingen has been noted for their focus on sustainable urban and traffic development.

The association "Bridge Stroke" has been committed to the Bergisch bike path project for many years. The outgoing Remscheid mayor Burkhard Mast-Weisz recently announced that Deutsche Bahn has given the "green light" for a detailed investigation into this project.

In addition to the Bergisch bike path, the SPD highlights other new tourism impulses such as the freshly restored Schloss Burg, the Federal Garden Show in Wuppertal, and the outlet in Remscheid Lennep.

Industries like robotics, research and development, and healthcare are also being emphasised as opportunities for cities in the region. A strong economy and good jobs are seen as key to a dignified life and social cohesion.

Administrations are highlighted as the engine for enabling and joint design, with close cooperation between business and administration being seen as crucial for maintaining and creating jobs. Miriam Scherff, a prominent SPD member, emphasised the importance of research, sustainable production, and lifelong learning for this purpose.

Neumann, another SPD member, advocates for crossing regional borders to create a joint economic hub. The SPD trio explained that the Bergisch City Triangle has a lot to offer in terms of tourism, and they aim to use these new impulses together for the entire region to move it forward.

With the phrase "Bergisch Together" signifying strength in unity, the SPD aims to use this spirit to drive the region forward, ensuring it remains an economic powerhouse with a vibrant tourism sector.
