Mizzou Arena, the home venue of the University of Missouri basketball team, has undergone a comprehensive renovation, led by Populous, an architecture and design firm. The transformation includes the addition of advanced on-court projection mapping technology, set to further advance the fan experience.

Quince Imaging oversaw the design, installation, and content creation for the projection system. The system's technology is RGB pure laser projection, and it includes four Christie Griffyn 4K35-RGB pure laser projectors. These projectors deliver bright, immersive visuals, capable of achieving ~98% of the Rec. 2020 color space, more than twice the color capability of Rec. 709 projectors.

Mizzou Athletics aims to enhance their capabilities and grow their content inventory with this new technology. David Bartlett, director of event systems engineering for Mizzou Athletics, anticipates the fan experience will continue to advance. He stated, "We are excited about the possibilities this technology brings. It allows us to tell the story of Mizzou and Mizzou Athletics in a way that has never been done before."

In addition to the projectors, Christie Mystique-Pro Venue Edition software is also part of the system. This software enables camera-based alignment and recalibration, ensuring a seamless and high-quality visual experience for fans.

Mizzou Arena is now equipped to take advantage of Rec. 2020 in the future, enhancing the visual experience for fans. The stadium will now be able to display a wider range of colours, providing a more vibrant and engaging atmosphere during games.

With this renovation, Mizzou Arena joins the ranks of other arenas that have adopted projection mapping technology, such as the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The university is eager to explore the full potential of this technology and create memorable experiences for fans.

In conclusion, the renovation of Mizzou Arena marks a significant step forward in enhancing the fan experience. With its advanced projection mapping technology, the stadium is set to provide fans with an immersive and engaging atmosphere that will bring the game to life like never before.
