New Sportsbook Launches in Nevada Ahead of Football Season

Boomer's Sportsbook, a new entrant in the Nevada sports betting market, officially launched near the Strip in Las Vegas on Monday, with Ellis Island Casino hosting the event [1]. The casino in Henderson, Casino Valle Verde, also opened a branch of Boomer's Sportsbook on the same day [2].

The expansion of Boomer's Sportsbook is not limited to Las Vegas. The company has received regulatory approval to open retail sportsbooks in Carson City and another in Las Vegas by the end of the year [3]. This move is part of Boomer's initial rollout plan, targeting prominent urban centers to tap into Nevada's strong sports betting market.

Boomer's Sportsbook is led by experienced gaming executive Joe Asher, who was previously the owner of Lucky's Race & Sports Book. Asher spoke to Gary Ellis, the owner of Ellis Island Casino and Casino Valle Verde, about his new company nine months ago and asked for his support [2]. Ellis chose to change from William Hill to Boomer's Sportsbook because of his long-standing relationship with Asher and his respect for Asher's knowledge in the business.

Boomer's Sportsbook is offering up to $250 in free bonus bets to match up to a $250 deposit as an initial marketing campaign [2]. Furthermore, Asher will announce a football-focused promotion to make it attractive for people to come to the properties and sign up for mobile accounts ahead of football season.

The requirement to sign up for a mobile account in person at Boomer's Sportsbook provides an opportunity to build a network of books for deposits and withdrawals. This could potentially give Boomer's an edge in the competitive Nevada market.

Boomer's Sportsbook is the first sportsbook in Nevada not owned by a casino operator [3]. Oscar Goodman, the former Mayor of Las Vegas, and Shelley Berkley, the current Las Vegas Mayor, were both present at the launch of Boomer's Sportsbook at Ellis Island Casino. Goodman placed a charitable bet of $500, betting $250 at 22-1 on the San Diego Padres to win the World Series and $250 on the Las Vegas Raiders to win the Super Bowl at 90-1 [1].

Boomer's Sportsbook is a Nevada-focused race and sportsbook, not expanding to any other state [3]. The company will target those in Elko with a billboard and those in proximity to Ellis Island and Casino Valle Verde with offers ahead of football season.

The Commercial in Elko hosted the launch of Boomer's Sportsbook on Friday [1]. With the official launch aimed for August 2025 ahead of the football season, Boomer's Sportsbook is positioning itself to enter a competitive Nevada market known for significant monthly betting handles, recently surpassing $1 billion in October 2021 [1]. This strategic move highlights the lucrative potential for new sportsbook entrants in Nevada.

Boomer's Sportsbook, newly launched in Las Vegas, is expanding beyond the Strip, with plans to open retail sportsbooks in Nevada cities like Carson City and another location in Las Vegas by the end of the year. Despite being a standalone sportsbook in Nevada not owned by a casino operator, it is offering attractive promotions such as up to $250 in free bonus bets and a football-focused promotion to draw consumers in, positioning itself for success in the competitive Nevada sports betting market.
