Tottenham Hotspur in Active Transfer Pursuit

Tottenham Hotspur are actively seeking reinforcements ahead of their return to Premier League action this weekend against Bournemouth, with a focus on securing a creative no.10 and additional options in both the winger and centre-back positions.

According to reports, Morgan Rogers of an unspecified club is being considered as a potential backup option for Tottenham, although no official confirmation has been made. Another potential signing is Savinho from Manchester City, who has also been linked with a move to North London.

However, a deal for Savinho may be complicated by the reported £10 million difference in valuation between the two clubs. Similarly, negotiations for Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche, another leading target for Tottenham, could be challenging due to the Ligue 1 club's reported high asking price. Transfermarkt values Akliouche at €45m.

Tottenham's pursuit of Akliouche is driven by his versatility, as he can play in multiple positions behind the striker. The North Londoners were also previously linked with Eberechi Eze, but the player has chosen to return to Arsenal instead.

In addition to Akliouche, Tottenham are reportedly close to making a move for a standout French star, although the identity of this player remains undisclosed. The club's transfer strategy seems to be focusing on proven talent rather than untested players outside France, as evidenced by their failed attempt to sign Morgan Gibbs-White.

Meanwhile, speculation continues to swirl regarding Piero Hincapie, a potential Tottenham target. However, it appears that Hincapie is heading to Arsenal instead, according to Fabrizio Romano.

In an effort to fill the void left by James Maddison's anterior cruciate ligament injury, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly focusing on signing Mikkel Damsgaard as a replacement playmaker, after missing out on Eze. They are also close to completing a high-profile transfer of Dutch midfielder Xavi Simons from Leipzig for around 60 million euros.

As the transfer window continues to unfold, Tottenham Hotspur remain active in their pursuit of key signings, with the goal of strengthening their squad and securing a successful return to Premier League action.
