SSL unveils advancements in Next-Gen Audio technology at IBC 2025, featuring new integrated solutions

Solid State Logic (SSL) is set to showcase its latest updates to the System T architecture at IBC 2025, aiming to streamline the creation of Next Generation Audio (NGA) content. The updates, which are the result of close collaboration with a number of industry partners, aim to simplify complex NGA production tasks.

At IBC 2025, SSL will be exhibiting at Stand 8.B73, inviting visitors to meet with broadcast experts and book appointments. The demo will feature an integration with Jünger Audio's flexAI processing platform, showcasing the control and monitoring of NGA workflows, including Dolby Atmos productions and S-ADM Dolby renderer presentations for live and broadcast applications.

One of the key features of the updated System T architecture is the support for Open Sound Control (OSC), providing real-time control of audio objects, XYZ positional controls, and unique functions. This allows for greater flexibility and efficiency in NGA production.

The updates also enable up to five independent rendering systems to be simultaneously configured on the System T console, and new systems can be added at any time. This modular design ensures that the System T console is scalable and adaptable to the needs of any production.

Operators can monitor any independent language presentation in a multi-language broadcast with a single button press using the integrated System T and AIXpressor. This integration simplifies NGA authoring, particularly in setups where a mixing console is already part of the production environment.

In addition, the integration of AIXpressor with System T delivers cloud-native, software-based audio processing for the System T range, further enhancing its capabilities.

SSL has partnered with Jünger Audio, Dolby, New Audio Technology, and TiMax for these updates, reflecting a shared commitment to developing more streamlined NGA workflows. The company is also working with a major European broadcaster on a project to enable real-time switching of S-ADM Dolby Renderer presentations and speaker layouts directly from the console.

The updates to the System T architecture will also see the introduction of the new 'Plus' range of Desktop Tiles, expanding the control functionality of the System T platform and making their IBC debut.

As S-ADM adoption grows and broadcasters seek ways to develop NGA content to deliver more value, SSL's updates are timely and significant. The company's partnerships and innovations are set to make a real impact on the industry, simplifying complex production tasks and enabling more immersive, high-quality audio experiences for audiences.
