Stadium Celebrates Fifth Anniversary in Las Vegas: Does the $2 Billion Facility Live Up to Its Promises?
Allegiant Stadium Celebrates Five Years of Major Events
Allegiant Stadium, the iconic venue in Las Vegas, officially opened its doors to the public in 2020, marking the beginning of a new era for the city's entertainment scene. Since then, the stadium has been a hub for major events, hosting everything from NFL games as the home of the Las Vegas Raiders, to concerts by top artists, and large-scale sports events.
One of the most notable events was the BTS concert series in April 2022, which saw the K-pop sensation sell out an impressive four nights, with a total attendance of 200,000 fans. BTS became the only act to sell out four nights at the stadium, a testament to their global popularity.
Regular NFL games have been a staple at Allegiant Stadium since its opening, with the stadium's capacity of approximately 65,000 fans filled for each game. Upcoming major events include a highly anticipated boxing match between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford in September 2025, and an Imagine Dragons concert in July 2025.
The stadium is also planned to host significant college sports events such as a Final Four and College Football Playoff national championship in the future.
Steve Hill, chairman of the Las Vegas Stadium Authority, has stated that it's safe to assume over 6 million fans have passed through Allegiant Stadium's gates since its opening. As of March, 5.8 million people have attended events at the stadium, a figure that continues to grow as more events are announced.
The construction of Allegiant Stadium, which cost $2 billion, has surpassed the expectations set before its construction. Located west of Interstate 15 and north of Russell Road, the stadium has been in existence for five years and has already made a significant impact on Las Vegas's entertainment industry.
The operation and management of Allegiant Stadium fall under the Las Vegas Stadium Authority, ensuring that the stadium maintains its high standards and continues to host major events. The attendance at Allegiant Stadium has been consistently high, demonstrating its popularity among fans.
With its impressive lineup of events and its ability to attract tens of thousands of fans per event and hundreds of thousands for multi-night concerts, Allegiant Stadium continues to be a key venue for professional football, international concerts, and major boxing events.
