Mark Magsayo, the Filipino boxer managed by none other than the legendary Manny Pacquiao, has been confirmed to participate in the highly anticipated Thrilla in Manila event scheduled for October 29, 2025. The event, organised by Sean Gibbons of MP Promotions, marks the 50th anniversary of the original Thrilla in Manila, a legendary boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier.

The opponent for Magsayo has yet to be officially announced, but Olympic bronze medalist Eumir Marcial is a potential candidate. Marcial is currently challenging for the World Boxing Council (WBC) International championship in the super-middleweight division.

Magsayo's recent victory against Michael Magnesi in a title eliminator promoted by Premier Boxing Champions last month, where he won via unanimous decision, has propelled him into the limelight. The upcoming fight against an as-yet-unidentified opponent promises to be another exciting chapter in Magsayo's career.

Interestingly, Magsayo is not the only one with a title on the line at the Thrilla in Manila. The main event will feature WBC minimumweight king Melvin Jerusalem defending his title against South African star Siyakholwa Kuse.

As the countdown to the Thrilla in Manila begins, boxing fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement of Magsayo's opponent. Regardless of who steps into the ring, one thing is for certain - the event at Smart Araneta on October 29, 2025, promises to be a night of thrilling boxing action.
