Starring Lineup for "Task": Key Actors in the High-Profile HBO Series Featuring Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey
In the gritty streets of Philadelphia, a new drama series is set to captivate audiences with its compelling narrative and an ensemble cast of established and rising stars. "Task," airing on HBO, promises to deliver a gripping tale of crime, family, and redemption.
At the heart of the show is Jayson Wilkes, portrayed by Sam Keeley, who operates the drug trade in the working-class suburbs of the city. Wilkes is the local chapter leader of the Dark Hearts, a powerful motorcycle gang.
The show's narrative revolves around Tom Brandis, played by two-time Emmy winner and four-time Oscar-nominee Mark Ruffalo. Brandis is an FBI agent with a troubled past, tasked with dismantling the Dark Hearts and bringing Wilkes to justice.
Joining Brandis in his mission is a diverse ensemble cast. Alison Oliver plays Lizzie Stover, a State Trooper going through a divorce who joins the Task Force. Lizzie's determination and grit are sure to add depth to the series.
The young actors of the Task unit have previously made their mark in the industry. Thuso Mbedu, known for her role in "House of the Dragon," portrays Aleah Clinton, one of the young officers assigned to the task force. Fabien Frankel, who was also in "House of the Dragon" and "Wednesday," plays Anthony Grasso, a member of the task force with expertise in dealing with Philadelphia gangs and drug enforcement.
Emilia Jones, best known for her role in the Oscar-winning film "CODA," appears as Maeve Prendergrast, Robbie's niece who helps care for his children. Jones will also be seen in Edgar Wright's adaptation of "The Running Man" this fall.
Robbie Prendergrast, a working-class family man involved in drug house robberies, is played by Tom Pelphrey, who has previously appeared in shows like "Ozark" and "Marvel's Iron Fist." Raúl Castillo plays Cliff Broward, Robbie's best friend and most trusted partner in his crew.
Rounding out the cast is Martha Plimpton, who plays Kathleen McGinty, Tom's boss at the FBI, and Silvia Dionicio, who portrays Emily Brandis, Tom's teenaged daughter.
"Task" promises to deliver a riveting storyline with complex characters and high-stakes drama. With its talented cast and gritty setting, it's a series not to be missed. Don't forget to catch "Task" on HBO.
