State of NRW Denies Refugees - No Admittance to Former St. Lukas Clinic in Ohligs
The District Government of Düsseldorf has announced that it will not be pursuing the refugee accommodation project at the former St. Lukas Clinic in Solingen, following an intensive review.
Previously, negotiations had been held with St. Lukas GmbH regarding the use of the former hospital as a refugee accommodation. However, the District Government has since determined that the clinic building is not suitable for this purpose.
Beatrix Van Vlodrop, the press spokesperson for the District Government, confirmed the decision during a recent press conference. She stated that the District Government is currently not announcing any new plans for the former St. Lukas Clinic.
The company group that owns the former hospital is actively seeking interested parties for the building. Cerstin Tschirner, the company spokesperson, has indicated that there are various potential future options for the vacant clinic in Ohligs.
Tschirner also mentioned that the company group is in negotiations with potential interested parties regarding the future of the former St. Lukas Clinic. However, she stated that the company will not be commenting further on the matter to avoid jeopardizing negotiations.
The former hospital on Schwanenstraße in Ohligs was under consideration for use as a refugee accommodation, but the District Government has now deemed it unsuitable for this purpose.
Despite the District Government's decision, the future of the former St. Lukas Clinic remains uncertain. No specific future plans have been disclosed by the company group, and no new decisions regarding the clinic have been made by the District Government.
Further possibilities for the former St. Lukas Clinic are currently being explored, and it is hoped that a suitable solution will be found for the vacant building in the near future.
