Stolen Cars and Fence Parts: Arrest of Bicycle Thieves, Investigation Continues for Witnesses Regarding Car and Fence Element Thefts and Winning Awards

In a series of incidents over the past few weeks, the Lower Saxony police have been actively investigating several cases of theft and attempted theft.

On the night of April 6th, 2025, a gray Kia XCeed was stolen from a parking spot on Schiller Street in Harburg, Neu Wulmstorf. The theft occurred between 7 PM and 9 AM the next day. The thieves managed to manipulate the keyless entry system to start the car, and they fled when the police arrived, abandoning a bike at the scene. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against four men, aged 21, 23, 24, and 25, in connection with this incident.

The damage from the theft amounts to at least 2,000 EUR. The stolen vehicle is estimated to be worth around 30,000 EUR. Witnesses who may have seen the theft or any suspicious activity related to the fence are asked to contact the Winsen police at 04171 7960.

In a separate incident, between March 11th and 12th, 2025, twelve metal mesh fence elements from a rainwater retention basin on Borsteler Grund Street in Winsen were stolen. This information was originally transmitted by the Police Station Harburg via news aktuell.

On April 6th, 2025, in Tostedt, a group of four young men were caught attempting to steal bicycles from a bike rack near the train station.
