Stolen Money: Robbers Appropriate Currency
In the early hours of Friday, 1st August, a tobacco company employee (58) was the victim of an attack in the town of Hürth, Rhein-Erft-Kreis. The incident occurred around 4:30 AM, as the employee was filling a cigarette machine on Gennerstraße near Karthausergasse.
According to the Rhein-Erft-Kreis Police, two unknown individuals are being sought in connection with the attack. The first suspect is described as approximately 180 cm tall, athletic, and wearing a black hoodie. The second suspect is also approximately 180 cm tall, slim, and wearing a blue top and a cap.
One of the perpetrators reportedly demanded that the employee turn around while presenting an unknown object. The identities of the two attackers have not been disclosed. The other perpetrator was in the employee's van during the incident, and both fled with cash towards Luxemburger Straße after the attack.
The police have initiated a manhunt and secured traces related to the incident. A criminal complaint has been filed, and the investigation is being led by the detectives of the Criminal Investigation Department 23.
